The world of business is changing. Customers have more choice these days. If they don't like your price, they'll simply go elsewhere. But the solution to this dilemma is simple. If you want customers, you have to give them something the competition isn't.
The Expert's Edge looks at publishing and conducting speaking engagements to build credibility as an expert in your field. This works in several ways. As people read your articles or attend your talks, you become visible to a wider audience of potential customers, people who already accept that you are an expert in your field. Later, articles can be brought out to use as resources as needed.
Becoming an expert to give your work an edge is not really a new concept. This has been the primary promotional mechanism for niche marketers for years. Nonetheless, few entrepreneurs actually set out the time to write and fewer actually publish what they write. Most rely upon sending out a few press releases to plug new services. This book will get those individuals moving in the right direction.

I bought Ken's book about a month ago and read it over a weekend. I'm certainly glad I did. Too many marketing-related books are heavy on theory but light on practical application. I found Ken's book to be the opposite. The book was highly readable and very actionable. His 5 five pillars to becoming a thought leader were straightforward and I was impressed by the real world strategies he suggested. In fact, over the past four weeks I have worked hard to implement several of his ideas and am already finding success.
At the end of the day, you must be willing to put in the time and effort to become a subject matter expert and a thought leader. With the appropriate level of effort and commitment, Ken's book will certainly help you get there.
Highly recommended!

Ken Lizotte's book provides a systematic process for becoming known as a thought leader. "The Expert's Edge" is clear, practical, and very engaging.
This is not just another book about publishing as a path to visibility. It is much more. Ken advises readers to cultivate a "thought leading" mindset, he explains why that's important, and then he proceeds to present a comprehensive approach to becoming known as an expert. He walks us through each step along the way, using his own experiences, those of his many successful clients, and the counsel of famous historical figures to illustrate how it is done. He simplifies what could otherwise be an overwhelming effort.
I especially loved Ken's stories, which are both inspirational as well as instructive. I keep this book right next to my desk as I write my current book because it such an indispensable reference. You should too.
